What is a physical therapist?
The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) defines physical therapists as "highly-educated, licensed health care professionals who can help patients reduce pain and improve or restore mobility".
What do I need to bring?
Be prepared to provide your previous medical or surgical history. If you have them and if they are relevant bring scan/MRI reports, and list of medication. Come prepared with shorts and a t-shirt.
How many visits will I need?
The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the physical therapist will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process.
What should I wear to my appointment?
It depends which body part we are treating. As a general rule, please come prepared with shorts and a t-shirt. If we are treating your spine, a sports bra and shorts or modest underwear is appropriate.
How do I make an appointment?
You can contact us by phone (323) 680 -5616, email or use the form under the contact page.
Please fill out our adult intake form or our pediatric intake form before your first visit.
Do I have to be referred by a doctor?
No. California has "direct access" to physical therapists. This means that you do not need a referral from a doctor. If care exceeds 45 days or 12 treatment visits you will need a referral from the appropriate provider at that time. In this care we will help obtain the referral so that you have seamless continuity of care.
Treatment duration is usually about an hour. It depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your impairments, your past medical history, and other factors. Re-evaluations will be done to assess your progress and your therapist communicates with your physician to help you achieve your therapy goals.
We see and treat patients for a wide range of conditions and diagnoses. Please visit our Services for an extensive list of conditions and diagnoses we see patients for.
